Available from Nov 2018. Please check back later for updates

Orchard Shop

Our shop for gate sales is located at the entrance of Cherrybank Orchard.

Our season is weather dependent and usually runs from mid November to January.

Our hours of business may vary, however in season we usually open from 8.30am to 5pm seven days a week.

PYO

We open our orchard for Pick Your Own during the cherry season - PYO hours will be advised.
Our orchard is a working orchard and therefore has contracted pickers, machinery and vehicles on site. Please note there are multiple hazards through the orchard and we have strict, clearly marked areas where you are able to PYO. Whilst we do provide ladders for PYO, please ensure that you use these ladders as instructed and take care when moving ladders in the orchard. The ground is uneven so please take care moving through the orchard.

Children are to be supervised on the orchard and we ask that you do not climb the trees as this causes damage to our trees. Whilst we do not mind you trying our wonderful cherries, we would ask that you refrain from lunching on them until you have paid for what you have picked.

We provide picking buckets for PYO, although you are welcome to bring your own container (please have own container weighed prior to picking). A staff member will show you to the PYO area and show you how to properly pick your fruit (leaving stalks on will ensure your cherries last longer). When you have finished picking, return to the shop where your bucket will be weighed and you pay for what you have picked.

Online Orders

CHERRIES SOLD OUT - please check back in November 2018
If you cannot make the trip to our orchard, we do offer online orders, however please note that we cannot guarantee advance orders out of season due to our dependence on weather and fruit availability.

We like our cherries to be picked fresh and dispatched to you so that they arrive in top condition. We take great care to ensure top quality cherries leave our orchard but please note that we do not have any control over their transit. Cherries need to be kept cold and arrive quickly to their destination, and whilst our couriers endeavour to deliver within 2 days, we prefer to dispatch cherries to North and South Island destinations Monday to Wednesday and rural delivery Monday or Tuesday to ensure they arrive in good condition. We will advise you of dispatch date and tracking for your courier.

If you are not sure whether you are in a rural delivery area, please check http://service.nzcouriers.co.nz/checkit/ and know that it will take longer for delivery.
We will contact you if there is any problems with dispatching your order. The courier will have permission to leave your cherries in a safe location if there is no one home to receive.
Please add any special delivery instructions to the comment section on the order form and we will pass these on to the courier.

Cherries FAQS

How long will my cherries keep for?

Cherries will keep for up to two weeks if they are kept in the fridge and they are in good condition with stalks intact.

Cherries are best kept cold so keep in the fridge.

Can I freeze my cherries?

Yes very easily. Place them in a freezer bag, remove any excess air, seal and freeze. We like to take the stones out before we freeze ours. Great for baking, smoothies, coulis and other cherry recipes!

How long will it take for my cherries to arrive?

From dispatch date our courier takes 1-2 days for delivery. At busy times this may take an extra day, and you should allow for an extra 2-3 days for rural delivery. If you are not sure whether you need rural delivery check on the courier website.

Can I send cherries to my friends and family overseas?

Sorry, no we only courier to New Zealand addresses.
